After covering Mira's story in a front page article just prior to the season finale of America's Greatest Makers, the Arizona Daily Star followed up with an article entitled "Tucsonan comes up short in TV science contest," announcing that Team HandsON did not win the grand prize. One local reader, Diann Rebo, took issue with this title and wrote a Letter to the Editor in today's paper:
"This accomplishment by one of our own deserves nothing but praise and recognition, but whoever wrote the headline chose to head the article "Tucsonan Comes Up Short in TV Science Contest." ... The contest recognized her accomplishment with a $100,000 prize. The Star's headline recognized only that she and her teammate did not come in first."
Thank you Diann, your support is appreciated!
